So here's something interesting that's been happening to me since September. When I first started my kickstarter, things were going well. Then out of the blue on one of the last days, someone messages me on kickstarter calling me a horrible artist, a "fat whore", and telling me to stop posting on "their site". They claimed to be someone I knew (whose user name will not be mentioned) from Comic Vine. I had posted the link to my kickstarter on www.comicvine.com to hopefully get more backers. So the weird thing was that the person that this troll was claiming to be was someone who I was friends with there and, as far as I knew, hadn't had any qualms with. At any rate, I ignored it deciding that this person was NOT the same guy and was just a hater.

So then a couple days back, I posted some artwork on comic vine again on my artist show-off thread just for kicks because I hadn't posted there for a while. Sure enough today I get a message on comic vine saying I'm a terrible artist and a fat whore. They then linked me to their portfolio and said I should at least comment on their stuff "you fat whore". Out of curiosity I clicked the link and checked out the guy's artwork. The art was lovely and very well done. Here's the fun part though--different profile. The only difference in the user name was an "s" at the end of it. I also found that all of the comments to other people from the profile with the lovely artwork were comments that were polite, uplifting, and very sweet.

My conclusion, the same person from the kickstarter incident was yet again trying to get a rise out of me, this time claiming to be someone else. I guess their goal is to try to get me angry at these other artists and degrade their artwork?

Well, the joke is on them because:

1. I'm not that stupid.
2. If it really was those artists angry at me, I would NEVER dis someone's artwork out of anger or spite.
and 3. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." - Galatians 5:22-23

Whenever trolls come my way this verse immediately pops in my head. I remember these words and am reminded that I should never sink down to some troll's level.

So this is new. I didn't realize that there are roleplayers here on DeviantArt. But lately I've been getting favs on some of my old fanart by them and it just took me off guard. Anywho, I guess it's fine with me if roleplayers are on myspace faving my artwork. Flattering, even! Plus I don't have to worry about people not knowing who did the artwork since it always links back to me

So today I talked to the BGHS art classes. It was an interesting experience. Honestly it was weird to talk to a group of people in which the majority didn't care about anything or just plain didn't want to be there. But it was nice to have a few students excitedly come up to me after I was done speaking and ask questions or express their own hopes and dreams of becoming a professional someday. My girlfriend Joy said that if at least 1 student got inspired because of me being there then it will have been worth it. Wishing I could have given away more comics to all the students but I am unfortunately too broke to give that many away so I ended up only giving away about 30 or so.

As always I'm self-conscious about my public speaking skills. I have GOT to stop winging it and write out some bullet points...

So to those of you who don't know, I work at Hitcents.com (the makers of www.drawastickman.com). We just launched a kickstarter for the new game we're developing: Draw a Stickman EPIC! I've played the demo level and am helping to animate some of the game elements. Anyway, check out the kickstarter page here ([link] and donate to the cause! If we want to get this done on time, we're going to need to be able to get more animators and such. Hitcents is nice enough to teach me flash which is what we're using to do this. I'm learning--but slowly. I can only do so much. There are 3 other animators aside from me that are FULLTIME ones and that's just not enough to get this game off the ground. So check out the kickstarter, read all the incentives, and decide how much you think you'd like to donate !
